GLVADA Signs on as Presenting Sponsor of LV Job Fair
In January of 2013, GLVADA served as a sponsor of the Cumulus Media job fair, held at the SteelStacks in South Bethlehem. Ten dealerships provided the GLVADA staff with job postings they had. Tom Kwiatek, Dick Culver and volunteer Ernie Ibarra staffed the GLVADA table, passed out information about the job postings from the ten participating dealerships and collected resumes. This resulted in several hires. However, Chris Saraceno from the Kelly Group also worked the show from our booth and was successful in hiring five new employees for Kelly.
Based on this success, and the constant need to find new employees, the GLVADA Board of Directors voted to partner with Cumulus this year by agreeing to serve as presenting sponsor for both job fairs in the 2013/2014 fiscal year. As part of the negotiation, we were able to secure a large suite for an exclusive “automobile parlor.” In this area we have the opportunity to utilize space for up to eight or nine separate tables. This means dealers can utilize our sponsorship to staff a table for the day, half-day, or quarter-day. In this manner, GLVADA will schedule tables at dealers’ request, and dealerships can use the job fair as their business allows. GLVADA staff will be present all day to represent those dealers who have job postings, but cannot spare personnel to be at the fair. For these dealers, we will distribute their job postings, secure their resumes, scan them and send them to dealers looking for applicants for those positions.
The next Cumulus Job Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30th at the SteelStacks Building in South Bethlehem. To participate, please contact Tom Kwiatek at your earliest convenience. Tables will be reserved on a first come first serve basis. Dealers can reserve a table for the full-day, half-day, or 2-hour sittings. All participating dealers are asked to provide us with the job postings available at their dealerships and a two-sentence description for each job. This information will be used in the promotional spots we get through our sponsorship, hyping the job fair. Dealers can even schedule time in the studios to record a spot to be used by WLEV in their promotion.
There is no cost to the dealer to participate in these job fairs.
