GLVADA donates $7,500 to mentoring program
The Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association has donated $7,500 to Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley, the organizations announced this week.
The GLVADA donation will help Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley continue its Whitehall High School Bigs Program in the 2011-12 school year. The agency anticipates the grant — along with a donation from the Arby’s Foundation — will fund 40 new mentoring relationships between Whitehall High School students and children at Steckel and Zephyr elementary schools.
“We are extremely grateful for both GLVADA’s and the Arby’s Foundation’s continued support of our mission,” Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley CEO Maryjean deSandes said. “The Whitehall High School Bigs Program will continue to flourish thanks to the generosity of both organizations.”
GLVADA contributes 50 percent of its annual proceeds to local charities.
