Dodge Dart Chosen for Auto-Tech Competition!

Twelfth Annual GLVADA Auto-Tech Competition

Plans for the 2013 auto-tech competition have been finalized. Eight teams from the area vocational – technical schools will face off on Saturday, February 16. Two students from each school will meet at the Northampton Community College automotive department to vie for the top prize.

A Dodge Dart has been selected for this year’s competition. The efforts of Doug Strohl, from Strohl Automotive Services, make it possible for the students to work on a Dodge Dart in advance of the competition. Doug contacts local Dodge dealers to secure the vehicles for use before and during the event. This event is a great opportunity for the future of these young men to further advance themselves in the field of automotive maintenance.

The competition is grueling and requires the individual teams to work together in finding the BUGS in their specific car. Only one team can win the top prize, but the top three teams will be awarded trophies. The two students from the first place team will go on to compete in the National Auto-Tech Competition in New York.
